School Night is a summer workshop series for alumni & students in Los Angeles.

The thrill and glamor of Hollywood entertainment brings many alumni to Los Angeles. But chasing the dream of seeing your name in the credit scroll can be daunting. Learn from alumni experiences in music across various spheres of the entertainment industry.

Join students and alumni for a panel discussion on the many roles and paths to having a musical career in multimedia.

Panelists include:

Nikole Luebbe, B.M. '14, a music supervisor and vocalist.

Perrine Virgile, B.M. '14, a composer, arranger and scoring assistant.

Eric Kalver, B.M. '09, a composer, arranger, drummer and music supervisor.

Check-in begins 6:30 p.m., conversation 7 p.m.

Seating is limited. RSVP required. Please note: Security at the Emerson Building requires some form of photo identification to check into the event.

:SPEAKERS:

Nikole Luebbe

Nikole Luebbe is the Music Supervisor of Universal Kid's Top Chef Junior and Animal Planet’s Cat vrs Dog as well as the Music Coordinator at Tinopolis USA where she works on American Ninja Warrior, Top Chef, Nailed It, Braxton Family Values and many more competition, reality and documentary films and television series. Based in the Los Angeles area with over 5 years of experience in music for television and film she is able to choose, clear and license the perfect music for any project. Her close relationships with composers, songwriters, bands, sound designers/editors and film music catalogs paired with her extensive knowledge of music history and theory make her an invaluable asset to any team.

Perrine Virgile

Perrine Virgile is a French TV and film composer now based in Los Angeles, CA. After studying classical music at the French conservatory and receiving a degree in Sound Engineering in Nice, France, Perrine moved to Boston, MA to attend the prestigious school Berklee College of Music. She graduated in late 2014 with a dual major in Film Scoring and Music Business, and moved to Los Angeles early 2015 to pursue her career as a film composer. Perrine has worked with composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek Discovery, Legion...) for the past 3 years as a scoring assistant and additional writer. Perrine’s recent projects include additional writing on TV shows Counterpart (Starz), Channel Zero (Syfy) films, such as Lizzie (selected for Sundance), as well as additional arrangements for Submission and Three Christs, and video game What remains of Edith Finch. She was also recently the composer for TV pilot Rage, as well as a French art exposition called “Cheval au galop”. Perrine was one of the 10 female composers chosen for the orchestral concert “The Future is Female” and will be writing a new piece for the second concert in the Fall 2018. She is also in the process of writing her first orchestral album, which she hopes to release sometime in 2019.

Eric Kalver

Eric Kalver is a composer, arranger, drummer, and music supervisor who has had many positions within the Los Angeles music industry. After attending Berklee College of Music, he moved to Los Angeles 8 years ago and has worked with many film and TV composers such as Brian Tyler, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Snuffy Walden, as well as written and performed musicals around Los Angeles in the comedy and musical theater scene, where he has worked at Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade. Previously, Eric was responsible for clearing all of the music for Guitar Hero Live, which won “Best Music Supervision in a Video Game” at the 2016 Guild of Music Supervisor Awards. Currently, Eric works as a producer and music supervisor for the company Music and Strategy, where he has music supervised advertisements for brands such as Ford, Miller Lite, Coach, Capital One, and Nest. You can also see him playing drums in the Netflix comedy special “Todd Glass: Act Happy”.
